The Beginning

With the Trucial Oman Scouts in Oman 1969

Im beginning this blog as one way of capturing my experiences in the Middle East and relating them to the happenings today. Partly I am writing this blog to balance in a very small way the absolute nonsense I see so prevalent in the Middle East academic community and written by journalists who are more interested in being politically correct than write the truth. This is not meant to be a digital hero wall. I have something to say and if it is read, good !  If not I leave it for my grand kids. I shall also comment on my view of where we Americans are going in my unabashed unapologetic old style conservative voice. I hope to write a couple times a week.
